Ticketmaster Renews Official Partnership With San Jose Earthquakes To Power Their Unmatched Gameday Experience
Earthquakes Lead Early Adoption of New Cutting-Edge Ticketing Technology
Los Angeles, CA — Ticketmaster, the global leader in advanced ticketing technologies, has renewed its official partnership with the San Jose Earthquakes to create the most seamless and personalized experiences for fans of the Major League Soccer club. The Earthquakes will deploy Ticketmaster’s latest ticketing and venue technology at the 18,000-seat Avaya Stadium as part of its effort to phase out paper ticketing, solidifying the club’s position as a leader in leveraging new technological innovations to enhance the fan experience.
Ahead of their 2020 season, the Quakes will implement Ticketmaster Presence™, the next-generation digital ticketing and venue access control platform. With Presence, Earthquakes fans will now see quicker venue entry, the best protections against ticket fraud, and personalized communications tailored specifically to their preferences and interests. To date, Presence has been installed in over 500 venues in North America and has seen zero instances of fraud across the platform. With Ticketmaster Presence, fans can access their digital tickets on their mobile device, download them to their digital wallet, and easily buy or sell tickets directly on their mobile device or Ticketmaster.com.
Earthquakes fans will be provided market-leading ticket security with SafeTix™, the latest enhancement to Ticketmaster Presence. Through NFC tap and go technology utilizing Apple Wallet, Google Pay and rotating barcodes that refresh every 15 seconds, SafeTix prevents the unscrupulous replication and sale of fake tickets.
“The San Jose Earthquakes are committed to leveraging the best technologies available for their fans, and we’re proud to continue our partnership to deliver on that promise at Avaya Stadium,” said Clay Luter, EVP and Co-Head of Sports for Ticketmaster, North America. “With Ticketmaster Presence and SafeTix, Earthquakes fans will be provided with the kind of personalization we all want, tailored to their specific interests and needs, while we work hard to eradicate fraud through our latest innovations in anti-counterfeit technology.”
“As we evaluated our ticketing platform moving forward, we prioritized fan experience and finding the most secure way to buy, sell and transfer tickets,” said Earthquakes Chief Operating Officer Jared Shawlee. “We believe that with the exciting product enhancements Ticketmaster will introduce in 2020, Quakes fans will enjoy a streamlined process to watch their favorite team play.”
With a diehard fanbase that prides itself on supporting the Earthquakes with chants and cheers, Avaya Stadium, which opened in 2015, boasts an on-site seismograph that measures Earthquakes fans’ loudest and most earth-shaking moments. And as part of their commitment to innovation, the San Jose Earthquakes and Avaya Stadium are leaders in environmental stewardship, with 882 solar panels that generate enough power to make the stadium net-zero on gameday. In 2017, Avaya Stadium won the National Recycling Coalition's Outstanding Business Leadership Award for their significant environmental protection efforts, including utilizing on-site gardens, offering reusable cups and bags, promoting junk pickup and recycling, and emphasizing hazardous waste disposal.
